 A group of biologists and other scientists believe humans began growing cannabis about 12,000 years ago — and not just for food, but also for hemp and, yes, probably to get high.

It is also short for Vasanta Panchami  an Indian festival celebrated every year on the fifth day (Panchami) of the Hindu month Magh (JanuaryFebruary), the first day of spring.
