Rind (tribe) Rind (Urdu: رند) are a Baloch tribe settled in the Balochistan province of Iran, and the Balochistan Province of Pakistan, Sindh and Punjab provinces of Pakistan. This tribe is considered progenitor of many Baloch tribes including: Nutkani, Marri, Leghari, Pasoi, Birhmani, Domki, Qaisrani, Sakhani, Bozdar, Bugti, Gadhi, Mastoi, Gabol, Kulachi, Khushk, Lund, Nizamani, Khetran, Lanjwani[Changwani) and others. They speak Balochi, Sindhi and Seraiki. Because they were centered around Dasht, they are sometimes called Dashti. Mir Chakar Khan Rind, the folk hero of the Baloch epic Hani and Sheh Mureed, united Baloch tribes in the 15th century and established his rule over Balochistan. His tomb is in Satghara, Sahiwal District, Punjab. As of 2010, Shahid Rajab Khan Rind Baloch and his brother Nawaz Rajab Khan Rind Baloch lead the tribe in Sahiwal, and Shahid Rajab Rind Baloch from 100/9-L is chieftain of the Rind in Sahiwal.
