jaber bin hayyan asked,what is death ?

 Jabar bin Hayyan (Father of Chemistry) asked Imam Jafar Sadiq (peace be upon him):

 Dear teacher, what is death?

 Imam (peace be upon him) said:

 When you were in your mother's womb, you lived in the dark curtains, that was a very small place, then you did not see the vastness and light of that place, but in that dark place, I was very happy, then I did not want to go to any other place from that place, because you did not see a place bigger than that, that is the reason why you found me in this place.  He started crying as soon as he came.

 Because you thought that I was dying, but the people here were happy that you were being born there.

 This is what will happen when you leave this place and go to the next place, the people there will be happy that the oppressor is being born, the people here will be crying because the oppressor is dying.

 What the world calls birth is actually death and what the world calls death is actually birth.

 Just as I don't want to come back to this place, so I don't want to turn back after seeing the vastness of the next place.

 The difference between the mother's womb and the place I am in is the same as the difference between this place and the place next to it, and the same difference is between this place and heaven.
